Hi All,
Where is everyone? Great article Em. Well, it seems I've gotten a really bad case of the flu. I took the day off yesterday and slept as much as I could. I'm still not completely over it but at least I'm somewhat functional. Comicon has made its way through town. It was crazy on Preview Night Wednesday where there were huge crowds everywhere. These two tall men in front of me were wrestling for a free bag. I kept saying, "It's just a bag. It's just a bag" and finally one let go. There wasn't a line or anything. People would push up against each other to get these free bags a vendor was passing out. Now you may ponder why I was there in the first place. Believe it or not, I feel I have become a less frugal person. Maybe it's because I've started to earn money and am learning the value of it. Either that, or I've met so many even more frugal people than me, their attitudes and personalities have scared me into spending. It's probably a combination of both. Anyway, not really wanting a bag for myself, I asked Mr. Boyfriend if he wanted a bag. Having said yes, I made my way through the crowd to get one believing he wasn't aggressive or fast enough to do it himself.* I was one of the last few to have gotten one. Then they started passing out cardboard shields and the crowds were just as feverent in wanting one. It was insane. I kind of wish I grabbed a shield as it would have come in handy fighting my way back out away from the crowd. All kinds of people, young and old, sweaty and/or smelly in some way shape or form had rubbed against me as I tried to head in a safe area. At one point, I was afraid I'd get trampled. All in all, I came out in one piece.
Alright, hope all is doing well. James seems to be having fun.

Back to Cali
Hi All,
Well my trip is coming to an end as I head back today. I've been here for about a week and a half. We really should have gotten in touch Em. I didn't realize NY was that close. I think DC is very scenic and I really like the buildings. I think this is my last trip out here for a while.
Wow Viv, it all sounds very exciting. Sucks about the experience in the elevator. These things that happen to you.. it's becoming less surprising. Maybe you need a good luck charm.

Trapped in a BOX
Hi. Sorry I've been busy. My internship went from me checking my email and reading my own books to being super busy with 4 projects on hand and adding 2 more in the next coming weeks. It's kinda of exciting. Right now I'm redesigning facades for a real estate business, a hair salon, and a grocery store, and drawing up plans for a restaurant that's going to start next to my work in a few months/ year, and drawing up plans for a lobby of the African American Arts Complex. So it's a bit crazy. I'm not sure if i'm gonna get paid but the architect that i work with thinks I should and is asking me write my hours because we're actually co-collaborating the designs. Furniture might also be an option depending on the client, but I'm hoping to do some of that.
I got trapped in an elevator last week. It's a long story, but its a very old elevator with gates and all and it kept beeping at me. Anyways i won't go into detail with that fiasco. Let's just say it was Friday the 13th.

hey girls,
You might want to hold off for Christmas too. The builders said 210 days from framing; framing began cinco de mayo. BUT, they don't guarantee dates. The date i saw actually written out is 11/29/07, BUT if there's a delay of some sort of who knows what, I might not be in the new house until after Christmas.
Let's see where the builders are at in September. Also, I could still be in my current house in August if the market is bad. I really hope it isn't, but I'm not counting on anything yet. So the road trip could still be a go. But like I said, everything is really up in the air right now. It's too soon to say anything for sure.
Congrats on the new the fridge, Em!
Serina, I hope you're enjoying you vacation.
I will be home Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun packing up. A cleaner is coming to the house on Monday to prepare the house for listing. You guys can give me a call if you want. I'll try not to be too rude; please understand that I'm going to be under a lot of stress during that time. But I will need breaks, so hopefully I will calm down when you guys call. =)
