Continued

This one is really cute: http://www.gucci.com/us/us-english/us/cruise-07/handbags/#169947_FCEKG_9761 in gray. I like the pattern. I looked at the other options (black and brown) and I'm fine with that too. The design of the bag is decent. I can't decide which of the two Gucci bags I like more. shrug. you can pick. go with this one if u can. :P

Alright alright

Hey em,

Nintendo DS if it's dirt cheap and some games (Super Mario Brothers or something?)

Don't forget that you still have to go through customs. If they see you have too many bags they'll take it away. Don't pay more than $25 if you get me one. I want Gucci (no. 1 choice) or Coach (no. 2 choice). can't ... handle.. the ... pressure.. to .. decide! I want a shoulder bag or hand bag and not too many pockets (unless it's cute) nor too many buckles (unless it's cute). It should be small-medium size-ish. I want it for work. No BIG label or big buckles (I hate big buckles), kind of settle.

If Gucci, I want black or brown. http://www.gucci.com/us/us-english/us/classics/handbags/#162882_FCERG_9791

If Coach, I want this design (darker brown Cs). http://www.coach.com/content/product.aspx?product_no=8836&category_id=68 I want the band to be darker though.

argh. ok just Gucci. I will look later. ttyl

Gifts

What do you guys want again? I just got into HK today and I'm hella tired. This place is madness but I love it already. I want to see Ekin Cheung and live the HK Triad lifestyle (kidding). There are hella bags here Serins, HELLA. Can you please send me links or pics of what you like? B/c I'm going to get you a bag regardless and I'd rather have some idea of what you like than no idea. I called Yeye. That was a funny phone conversation. It was like talking to Gonggong. I kept repeating myself louder and louder on the phone. I'm supposed to call tomorrow to see him on the next day. I wonder if I'll be able to get by with just smiling and nodding...

The Scream

The Scream has been recovered!!!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070423/ap_en_ot/munch_theft

Hahahaha!

That's hilarious em. It probably thought you were returning home and/or you needed a bath.

"Bathing calf: spraying water over and scrubbing it gently with her trunk. Drawing water from her own stomach and spraying calf. During drought, to cool the calf-not an everyday event." from http://www.nature-wildlife.com/eletxt.htm

I didn't find much else on that site.

I'm doing alright. I went to my first baby shower and live comedy show so that was fun. I also watched "Pirates of Penzance" with Brian this past weekend. :)

Sounds like you're having a great time. :-D

Hey

It's going well. I'm heading to Hong Kong tomorrow. We're only spending 3 days there until we move on to Cambodia. Daddy gave me the phone number and addresses of his Dad (YeYe) and Uncle Cesar and Auntie Ella and Uncle Kent. I'm going to try and get in touch with them while I'm there and see them.

How are you guys?

Contacting family in HongKong/China

Hi Em,
It sounds like the elephant likes you. It must be some kind of mating ritual. Just kidding! I saw yiyi today and she asked me if you would like to visit some of our relatives in Hong Kong, like Bowe jeje. She asked me to let her know and she would email the addresses to you if you'd like. How is the rest of your trip going???

Singapre Snot

I went to the Night Safari last night. It's a zoo/amusement park of nocturnal animals. We rode the tram through the different "exhibits". Just as we were passing the African elephant, it lifted its trunk, pointed it directly at me and shot a stream of water/elephant snot directly at me.

Word

so dramatic, but yes I can see your point of view. especially that you have her and yi yiyi. i don't think that helps at all.

well maybe u can just zone 'em out with your mini ipod. be like gong gong, pretend you can't hear her/ignore.

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

But you know why I'm aggravated right?

I left her.

She started in on me and I just walked away from her in the middle of
the street.

Worse, she was with GongGong's friends, some older women, and I know
I've totally disrespected her in front of other people and therefore
look like a bastard-Americanized-asshole-disrespectful-no-mannered
daughter but it was either that or run into oncoming traffic.

Third person

That's hilarious em. I know how you get when you're frustrated. It sounds like you're going to have a heart attack. Mommy always comes back saying, "emily is so moody." hahaha.

On a similar note:

My officemate just turned around to say: "hey, did you know that the computer calculator can do binary, hexidecimal, etc. conversions?"

Me: Yeah, I told you that last time.

Officemate: Last time you just said, "just use the calculator. I didn't know you meant that I could push a button and it could do any conversion I want."

Me: haha.

She would have figured it out sooner or later. Last time, when she mentioned doing conversions and I said, "just use your calculator," I thought it was pretty clear. People are funny.

But...

Mommy: The cross street is Chatham Square.
Me: But....that's a square!

Jo-Sun

Mommy: Did you put on your hearing aid yet?
Gong Gong: Ah?

---

Yiyi: Did you use the bathroom yet?
Me: Yes.
Yiyi: You did?
Me: Yes.
Yiyi (suspicious): When? Before your mother?
Me (exasperated): Just now.
Yiyi (suspicious): Really? Hm.

---

Me: Where are we going for dim sum? Call Hun Dei and get the cross street.
Yiyi: It's on Broadway.
Me: But what's the cross street? Broadway is really long.
Yiyi: It has to be near by here.
Me: But the streets here are all crazy....
YiYi: We'll just go out and ask someone where the nearest bus station to Atlantic City is. That's where she said it was.
Me: But there are a million bus stations! She couldn't tell you what the cross street was?
Yiyi: She doesn't know that.
Me: Did you ask?
YiYi: It's in Chinatown. We'll find it. It's near here.
GongGong: It's on Broadway. You don't know Broadway? You've lived here for years!

Why I love Gong Gong

Gong Gong: You don't have to work tomorrow?

Me: I'm unemployed.

Gong Gong: Good. You can come back to San Francisco.

Sigh

Me: Gong gong is in the shower. The showerhead is tricky, remind me to show you how to use it when he gets out.

Mommy: I'm not taking a shower.

Me: What about tomorrow?

Mommy: No.

Me: What? You're not taking a shower tomorrow?

Mommy: No, I'm not taking a shower tomorrow. No.

Me: What, you're not taking a shower tomorrow?

Mommy: I'm taking a shower tomorrow.

Me: Okay. (pause) The showerhead is tricky, I'll show you how to use it so you can shower tomorrow.

Mommy: It's just a shower. How hard can it be? You think I'm stupid?

Me: NO. I'm not saying you're stupid, it's just tricky. You have to pull down.

Mommy: Yeah, yeah, you pull down...

Yiyi: You just turn it all the way and then..

Me: No! You pull the faucet down. There's..

Yiyi: Is it like Serina's where you have to pull it really hard? Or of course there's a button.

Me: No! There's no button. There's no nozzle. That's what I'm saying! It's tricky because you can't see where to adjust it.

Mommy: Well, if you're so smart, how did you know how to do it?

Me: Because the shower in my apt is the same way.

Mommy: Oh yeah. That's right. I remember when I stayed there it was really tricky. Can you show us later?

Emily+recipe=bored

Man, dude, dudette. You sound bored! You need a hobby.

Banana Bread

Bananas really need to be brown before proceeding with this dish. Green bananas will just leave nasty hard chunks in the middle of the loaf. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Mash 3-4 bananas with 1 cup of sugar. Mix in 1 stick of butter at room temperature, 2 eggs, and a splash of rum. Meanwhile, combine 1 2/3 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/3 cup of oat flour, 1 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon salt. Add the banana mixture to the flour mixture. Dump the combined mess into a loaf pan and bake for an hour. This new creation will stretch the life of the bananas by another week.

Refresher course?

No, I don't think so. Don't mix me with Viv. :P

The curtain idea sounds great Em. I only have two windows. I will get you the measurements once I find/get a measuring tape. Both windows are pretty small. I'd say you're looking at a maximum of 2 yrds.

Saturday, April 7, 2007

Hmm

You should all take refresher courses in punctuation and math.

Viv, that's amazing that you're covered for school. Congratulations, I'm very happy for you.

Serins, how's the living situation? All settled in? I was thinking that I'd get you some fabric from Asia for curtains. If you send me the measurements of your windows I can also cut and sew them together for you before I send them.

I saw this movie The Namesake recently. It was good. You guys should go watch it.

Nice

Viv, that's great. No, I don't plan on volunteering to be a dentist silly. I would have to go school once I decide to commit.

Anyway, I'm doing alright. ttyl.

Idiot is me

Ok so why they gave me a scholarship I don't know seeing as how I can't count... They are paying for almost all of my tuition!!!! $24,000 dollars this year!!!! Isn't that crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thats Awesome

thats the funniest april fool joke yet. Wow I give owen points! Serina I don't think you can volunteer to be a dentist...

Greetings

Hi all,

Yes em, that would have been a cruel april fool's prank. Owen got me good. He told me one of his bunnies died. punk.

Thanks for answering my question regarding career choice. It's funny you mentioned event planning cuz I JUST recommended that to my friend like less than 15 min. ago. Detailed oriented isn't a bad quality. I just don't know if I'm organized enough. I'm really considering doing some volunteer stuff regarding dental.

Alright, take care.

My stomach hurts

Viv, you spelled "financial" wrong. No wonder you're going to art school.

Just kidding, skippy. CONGRATULATIONS on getting financial aid. I'm really, really happy for you. Sorry I didn't call you back yesterday. My roommate and I got stuck watching Heroes online. For 5 hours.

Ah. Productivity.

Anyway, I'm trying to learn Photoshop on my own again and it's frustrating. The discs I was going to send you had installation errors and I'm not sure it's even worth it anymore to send them. James is going to hook me up with some so once I get those I'll send them over.

Mommy sent me her old phone and I get reception now. I called her on my old phone and it kept hanging up on her and she left me a message saying, "I think something's wrong with your phone." Me, "That's why you sent me your old one." Yeah, I'm mean. Sorry. I didn't do anything to her for April Fool's this year at least. I was going to sign her up for an online dating service but thought that'd be too cruel.

Anyway, if you want me to send anything back home with Mommy, let me know.

Serins, I see you in Vegas. As a professional gambler. Seriously, you've always been good with people. Have you thought of sales or hospitality? Maybe event planning?

Deb, what did you want me to paint for you again?

$$$$$

YAY!!!!
I just received my fiancial aid and school scholarships....
I GOT 12,000!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!! For each semester!!!!!!!!!
That's half my tuition!
It would cost less than Cal Poly!!!!!!!!!
